THIRD CULTURE KIDS

We are both Third Culture kids who grew up in countries other than our own. Working as teachers at international schools with diverse cultures helped us reflect on our journey and realize how these experiences shaped our identities and perspectives.

In our workshop, we will define the term 'Third Culture Kid’ and explore how this term has changed throughout time. We have collated traits and challenges of Third Culture Kids through research and interviews with our students, and we would like to share them with you to help identify and support TCKs in our classroom.

Our workshop aims to raise awareness among educators and parents to support and promote a sense of belonging for the Third Culture Kids in our schools. We hope this can be a starting point for many more conversations that will help strengthen our communities.
